Turner Contemporary's learning and community programme is central to the aims of the organisation. Activities for families run alongside exhibitions as well as a busy programme of talks and events.

Turner Contemporary works with the University College for the Creative Arts in Canterbury and the National Society for Education in Art and Design (nsead) to run an exciting programme of professional development for teachers, including a Summer School where particpants can learn new skills and develop their own practice.

Turner Contemporary is also one of five organisations taking part in arc+, an Arts Council England pilot project providing free advice and networking opportunities for artists and artists' groups in the south east.
